Farm Aid celebrated its 30th anniversary at our venue, with a lineup that included Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Imagine Dragons, Kacey Musgraves, and many more.

Our stage made its grand debut as these two iconic bands, both hailing from Chicago themselves, kicked off their co-headlining summer tour with us.

As the twentieth century took off, Northerly Island became home to a bustling downtown airport. After being bulldozed in 2003, the land was released to the Chicago Park District, and over four acres were set aside to become the site of a live music venue.

Chicago's Century of Progress International Exposition brought technological innovations, architectural marvels, cultural showcases, and - of course - good music to the shores of Lake Michigan. At an open-air pavilion on Northerly Island, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra delighted fairgoers with free performances, kicking off the island's rich history of live music.
